Concert Ensembles
Concert Band

Concert Band is a class open to students having an interest in continuing to play a brass, woodwind, or percussion instrument. Students provide their own instruments through rental or purchase. Students will work on basic fundamentals of tone, notation, rhythm, ensemble playing and on the performance of band literature grades III, IV and V (grade VI being most difficult). Students are expected to practice regularly outside school time and to participate in concerts and rehearsals after school hours. Completion of this class earns one credit.
Wind Ensemble

Prerequisite: Successful completion of an audition.
Students enrolled in this class will learn advanced fundamentals of music and play grades V and VI music (grad VI being the most difficult) with more emphasis on ensemble experiences and performance of band literature. Students provide their own instruments through rental or purchase. Students are expected to practice regularly outside school time and to participate in concerts and rehearsals after school hours. Completion of this class earns one credit.
Percussion Ensemble

This course is open to all percussion students and will emphasize fundamentals of all percussion instruments. Students will perform their own percussion ensemble music while also learning music that the Concert Band and Wind Ensemble will be playing. Emphasis will be placed on fundamental skills and the performance of concert percussion band literature. Students are expected to practice regularly outside school time and to participate in concerts and rehearsals after school hours. Completion of this class earns one credit.
